ST. LOUIS - Emerson Climate Technologies announced the 2005–06 schedules for its Copeland Scroll™ Air Conditioning Training Seminar and Compressor Operation and Service Seminar (COSS). Emerson's Educational Services division offers both seminars.

These courses have recently been enhanced to include material and information vital in helping contractors and service technicians understand and prepare for the industry's transition to 13 SEER in 2006. The revised curriculum is part of Emerson's Get SEERiousâ„¢ campaign, designed to educate contractors, distributors, and homeowners on 13 SEER and help lead the HVAC industry through a smooth transition.

"The enhanced seminars demonstrate the value that Emerson Climate Technologies places on specialized training programs to continually meet the needs of HVACR contractors," said Larry Banas, director of Emerson Climate Technologies' Educational Services.

"It's important that contractors take full advantage of the opportunities that have been developed for them to help grow their business and meet the ever-changing challenges facing the industry."

The Copeland Scroll Air Conditioning Training Seminar is a half-day seminar for service technicians that focuses on air conditioning-system fundamentals, Copeland Scroll technology, and alternate refrigerants. Seminars will be held at various locations between October 2005 and April 2006; each daily session will last approximately four and a half hours.

This COSS seminar is designed to give technicians a better understanding of scroll compressors and new refrigerant technologies, as well as related service practices such as proper charging procedures for R-410A systems and new component technology aimed at improved system reliability, serviceability, and comfort.

The three-day seminars will be held at various locations between September 2005 and May 2006.

North American Technician Excellence (NATE) approves both seminars for use towards contractor NATE recertification.
