The rotary disc humidifier system provides year-round humidification for homes up to 3,200 square feet. The design of the unit centers on a cylinder of 43 ring-shaped, heat-engineered plastic disks enclosed in a drum. These disks rotate through a reservoir of water in the bottom of the drum, picking up water that immediately evaporates as heated air from the furnace blows through the drum chamber, the company states. The humidifier exchanges water up to 28 times a day, eliminating the buildup of bacteria or mold, says the manufacturer. According to the company, use of the humidifier's self-cleaning Auto-Flushâ„¢ system eliminates mineral buildup. The unit evaporates 14 gallons of water per day when the Auto-Flush system is attached.
