LANSING, Mich. - Mechanical contractor T.H. Eifert Inc., headquartered here, has been awarded the STAR Contractor designation from the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA). According to MSCA, the STAR qualification ensures quality service from technicians that provide heating, cooling, refrigeration, piping, and temperature control systems in every size building.

To be awarded an MSCA STAR, a mechanical contractor must employ service technicians that have passed the STAR exam to be certified technicians. At least 25 percent of a contractor's service technicians must be STAR certified. The contractor must meet eight stringent criteria to ensure its customers that the company, and its employees, have all the skills necessary to do the job correctly, safely, and efficiently.

The MSCA STAR Qualification Program was introduced in 2003. MSCA is a national trade association representing more than 1,200 firms nationwide that perform service, maintenance, retrofit, and repair on all types of HVAC systems as well as refrigeration and plumbing.

T.H. Eifert has been in business serving mid-Michigan for more than 16 years. The company has grown from founders Tom and Connie Eifert to a company of 40 employees that provides construction and service of mechanical and plumbing systems in buildings from homes and apartments to retail stores, schools, hospitals, and industrial factories.
