ST. LOUIS - Emerson Climate Technologies has launched an initiative to develop and strengthen relationships with refrigeration contractors who specify, install, repair, and service refrigeration equipment in the food service industry.

The goal is to ensure these contractors have the products, tools, education, and support they need to grow their business, stay ahead of emerging trends, and meet the energy efficiency needs of their customers. The company also plans to work closely with the contractors to gather feedback on products and services in development, increase their awareness of new and emerging technologies, and gather their feedback on HVACR issues and concerns facing the food service industry.

HVACR contractors in the food service industry are faced with many difficult challenges that are unique to their business. Food service equipment must run at peak performance and reliability at all times. The equipment is located in harsh environments and can often be difficult to service. Contractors must also take issues like food safety and product quality into account. Most important, as with any industry, contractors in the food service industry stake their reputations on the service and solutions they deliver.

"By working with contractors, Emerson Climate can gain valuable insight into the HVACR issues and concerns driving the food service industry, as well as foster greater understanding of the innovative technologies and services available," said Bob Labbett, vice president of marketing for Distribution Services.

As part of the initiative, Emerson recently introduced a product brochure specifically focused on the food service industry. The food service product brochure, the first in a series of new product brochures, is designed to help contractors gain a more complete view of the systems that they are servicing, as well as the Emerson products and technologies available for the industry.
