Intrepid® rigid pleat media is a family of synthetic media for rigid filter products, including aluminum separator filters, minipleat filters, and V-bank filters. According to the company, the new media offers lower pressure drop and higher durability than conventional glass media. It is available in three efficiency levels: 65-percent efficient (MERV 11), 85-percent efficient (MERV 13-14) and 95-percent efficient (MERV 14-15). The media's structure is designed to provide a mixture of fiber diameters to ensure high efficiency while minimizing pressure drop. To assist in determining the economic benefit of adopting the new filter media, an energy-cost analysis software program that calculates the energy consumption and resulting energy cost associated with various filter options is available.
