VANCOUVER, Wash. - A "Permits Protect" campaign, designed to educate homeowners about the benefits of doing permitted construction work with licensed contractors, is off to a great start, according to the Oregon Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ORACCA). The association said the campaign has reached thousands of households.

A Permits Protect Web site, www.permitsprotect.info, is up and running. Local jurisdictions are using brochures, flyers, and T-shirts sporting the Permits Protect logo and theme.

According to ORACCA, it is the "firm belief of the committee that everyone, jurisdictions and industry, is needed to help educate the public about this important message."
