The GuardianPlusâ„¢ Air Systems are composed of whole-house HEPA filtration, fresh air ventilation, and an energy recovery ventilator (ERV). The fresh air ventilation reduces the presence of contaminants smaller than 0.3 microns, says the manufacturer, while HEPA filtration removes particles 0.3 microns or larger. Incoming fresh air is heated or cooled by the exhaust air. Latent energy is captured from the incoming fresh air and transferred to the home's exhausting air. The fresh air that has been conditioned by the ERV is sent through the HEPA filtration system and distributed throughout the house. This kit includes the unit, the electronic wall controller, and installation kit. According to the manufacturer, the GuardianPlus Air Systems have been approved for FDA Medical Device Registration, thereby allowing a medical professional to prescribe the equipment if it is determined that a patient has a medical necessity for cleaner, healthier air.
