Micromatâ„¢ HVAC equipment liner is effective for reducing air friction and damage and can be used in a variety of applications, including furnaces, variable air volume boxes, and roof curb applications, says the company. Ideal as an acoustical control and thermal liner for HVAC equipment, the liner is unaffected by oil, grease, and most acids, the manufacturer states. It is composed of borosilicate glass fibers that are incombustible and nonhygroscopic. It is available in a variety of densities and thicknesses. With a maximum air velocity of 5,000 feet per minute (25.0 meters per second), the liner has a temperature rating of up to 250 degrees F, the company says.
