YORK, Pa. - Christmas came a little early back East, when the Jedd Paup Memorial Golf Outing committee turned over its proceeds to the Jedd Paup Memorial Scholarship Fund (J.P.M.S.F.) board of directors on Dec. 5.

The Jedd Paup Memorial Scholarship Fund was started in July 2005 after the death of Jedd Paup, technical advisor and project manager for Spangler and Boyer Mechanical in York, Pa.

Mr. Paup was known for his outgoing personality and interest in taking young technicians under his wing for training. "It didn't matter whom you worked for; if you needed technical advice he always had time to talk you through you problem," said the committee.

Mr. Paup's second passion was golf. "His friends and coworkers thought that the golf outing was a fitting tribute for the main scholarship fundraising event," the committee said. The board decided that the proceeds will fund a total of six $1,000 scholarships to York County students looking to attend HVAC and plumbing trade schools.

The 2006 event is scheduled for Sept. 27 at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center. Discounted rates are available until Jan. 31 to those who commit to sponsoring the event. For information, contact Glenda Spangler at 717-792-8854.

Contributions to the fund can be sent to J.P.M.S.F. Inc., 5175 Commerce Dr., York, PA 17404.
