SPRINGFIELD, Va. - The National Capital Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA-NCC) and Washington Gas will host a special seminar on "The Lost Art of Steam Heating" by popular speaker and author Dan Holohan. The seminar will be held Dec. 16 at Washington Gas in Springfield, Va.

The cost of the seminar will be $99 for ACCA members and $149 for nonmembers. Holohan has generously agreed to donate all proceeds to the family of Cody Johnson, a two-year-old boy suffering from neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that affects the sympathetic nervous tissue and adrenal glands. It is the hope of the ACCA-NCC to send Cody and his family to Disney World in Orlando.

According to Patricia Lupson, ACCA-NCC executive director, Holohan's seminar "deals primarily with one-pipe steam space-heating systems and the older vapor and vapor/vacuum systems found in residential buildings of all sizes."

Lupson added, "You'll have a clearer understanding of the art of steam heating when the day ends. You'll be able to solve those common residential problems that stumped you last year. And you'll be able to turn your newfound knowledge into profits the very next day."
