Contest Winner To Get ‘Cool' Weekend Getaway

Participants will be required to provide their contact information, along with the date and time that they think the first 100-degree reading will occur at Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport. In the event of a tie, a drawing will be held.
Participants may enter as often as they choose, but only one entry per Web site "hit" will be allowed. The contest will end when the temperature reaches 100 degrees at the Phoenix airport as reported by the National Weather Service.
Carol Goguen, SMACNA Arizona's executive director, said the contest is designed to be a fun way for people to get ready for the hot months ahead and to help them learn more about SMACNA Arizona's member contractors and the quality, training, and craftsmanship they provide.
"It's also a way for our organization to kick-off our annual Cool Air Project," said Goguen. "This year, as we did last year, SMACNA Arizona will be donating box fans to the Area Agency on Aging for their distribution to those who might need them during the upcoming summer months."
SMACNA is an international association of union contractors in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry, representing 2,000 contributing contractor firms. SMACNA Arizona has contributed more than $2.5 million statewide toward skills training and apprenticeships programs over the past three years.
