The line of ACH550 AC drives has been expanded to include a 600-V unit, in a 2- to 150-hp range, which will allow the drives to be installed in commercial applications in Canada as well as the United States. The company says the 2- to 150-hp drives can be used for powering fans, pumps, cooling towers, and other HVAC system motors. The Start-Up Assistant software built in ensures that the startup and tuning of the drives can be done faster than before and provides step-by-step guided startup, the manufacturer states. The software is available for use in 16 languages. Both a digital interface card (15/230 V) and field bus adapters are available as options. A parameter copy feature allows drive features to be copied from one motor controller to another. The copy feature is used regularly as a backup, in case of a drive failure.
