The H21J is the next generation of Benchmark reciprocating compressors. The company says a hard-start kit now is unnecessary. According to the manufacturer, with the compressor's improved efficiencies, the compressor can add an entire half point to system SEER ratings. The compressor outperforms the leading scroll compressor in lab and field tests for residential applications up to 3.5 tons, claims the company. The compressor utilizes a patent-pending internal suction muffler, which reduces pressure pulsation inside the shell, further reducing compressor sound, the manufacturer says.
