Chiller Company Uses R-417A
INDIANAPOLIS - Continental Chillers LLC has developed the E-Line of chillers and condensing units that use refrigerant R-417A, an HFC refrigerant that advocates say can work with mineral oil. The refrigerant is being supplied to Continental by ICOR International, which packages it under the brand name NU-22.
According to a statement from ICOR, "Continental chose NU-22 because it is comparable to R-22 in terms of performance across the full R-22 temperature range, is nontoxic, nonflammable, and rated A1 by ASHRAE."
