• Four members of the Lake and McHenry Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors Association (Downers Grove, Ill.) have won its "Commitment to a Safe Workplace" award for 2003. The award recognizes improvements in categories such as lost workdays and workers' compensation resolutions. The winners were Colette & Ano Plumbing Co. Inc. (Antioch), Dankris Industries Inc. (McHenry), Ernie Peterson Plumbing (Waukegan), and Sherman Mechanical Inc. (Cary), all of Illinois.

  • Hentkowski Inc. (Wilmington, Del.) has had all of its service and installation technicians certified by North American Technician Excellence (NATE), earning what NATE says is only the second 100-percent certification compliance certificate ever awarded. John Hentkowski accepted the certificate on behalf of his company at a meeting of the Independent Heating and Cooling Council (Wilmington).
