Ed Lord II/SMCI Scholarships Awarded To Four Students
Based on interviews at Iowa State University, four students who are majoring in construction engineering with an emphasis on mechanical engineering were awarded $500 to $750 scholarships.
The winners of the $750 scholarships were Adam Smith of Webb and Tyrel Murray of West Point. The winners of $500 scholarships were Eric Smith of Norwalk and Chad Hotovec of Storm Lake.
The Ed Lord II/SMCI Scholarship was established in memory of Ed Lord II, owner of Haco Engineering Co. in Sioux City, and a board member of both SMCI and the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA). Since the fund’s inception in 1992, $31,000 in scholarships has been awarded.
