FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Rheem Air Conditioning Division notes that its five-year limited warranty is applicable to single-phase products installed in residential applications on or after January 1, 2001.

All of Rheem’s products come with a written limited warranty on parts. The warranty provides that a replacement will be furnished for any part of the product which fails in normal use and service during the applicable warranty period specified, in accordance with the warranty's terms. The Rheem replacement part is warranted for only the unexpired portion of the original warranty. If the product has a heat exchanger which fails and a replacement is not available, a credit for the heat exchanger will be allowed towards the purchase of a new unit.

All parts are warranted for a period of one year after the effective date, except for some specified product parts.

The effective date is the date of installation if properly documented; otherwise it is the date of manufacture plus six months.

Rheem’s Protection Plus allows consumers to extend the limited warranty on their Rheem equipment up to 10 years.
