ISH North America To Offer Products, Productivity, And Profits

August 31, 2002
ISH North America is hosting three days of seminars, exhibitions, and special events from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, 2002 at Toronto's National Trade Centre. Sponsored by Messe Frankfurt and other sponsors and partners, the theme of the trade show is “Forging a New Era of Products, Productivity and Profits.”

The newly consolidated show offers business and educational opportunities to anyone involved in HVAC; plumbing; kitchen and bath; and pipes, valves, and fittings industries. There are 400 exhibitors registered from 13 countries.

Messe Frankfurt is working in conjunction with major associations such as the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC), and the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) to make ISH a success in North America. PHCC will hold its annual convention in Toronto starting just before the ISH show, building the event into an “all-in-one” package for attendees.

According to Messe Frankfurt, ISH NA has recruited 30 renowned speakers to present more than 50 seminars and panel discussions. Seminars will cover a broad range of topics from business management to product design and motivational methods.

SEMINARS

Topics are geared toward a number of interests, including the HVAC and hydronics industries.

Among the HVAC-related speakers are:

  • Richard Trethewey, a member of PBS’ “This Old House” team since the series debuted in 1978, is the event’s keynote speaker. His presentation is entitled “Future Insights: Where Is Our Industry Heading?”

  • Dan Holohan, a renowned author and proponent of the American hydronic heating industry, as well as the proprietor of the website www.heatinghelp.com, will present two seminars: “The Top-10 Dumb Things Folks Do With Hot Water” and “The Top-10 Dumb Things Folks Do With Steam.”

  • Ted Gartland, Northeastern United States territory manager and Canadian national sales manager for Genetron Refrigerants, and Mark Spatz, P.E., refrigerant technical services manager, both of Honeywell, Inc., will speak on CFC replacements.

  • Scott Duncan, general manager, water controls business for Honeywell, Ltd., Roy Collver, president of sales and marketing, management at Mechanical Systems 2000, Inc., and John Goshulak, P.E., director of sales, new business development at Viessman Manufacturing Co., will offer a hydronics panel discussion.

  • Matt Freije, president of HC Information Resource (a firm that offers publications, consulting, and seminars on Legionella and other waterborne pathogens), will discuss Legionnaires’ Disease.

  • Ruth King, president of the American Contractors Association and channel manager of the Web-based HVAC Channel, will present a seminar on HVACR business and marketing management.

  • John R. Hall, business management editor for The News, will explore the topic of finding, hiring, and retaining service technicians, spotlighting real-life examples from successful HVACR contractors.

    NETWORKING

ISH North America also offers contractors, builders, wholesalers, distributors, engineers, architects, designers, and building/plant managers networking opportunities with top contractors, consultants, and manufacturer representatives; educational tips and insights from industry experts; exposure to new products and innovations on the exhibition floor; and business and prospecting opportunities.

    LONWORLD CONFERENCE

In addition, an ISH NA registration badge gains admission into the 2002 LonWorld Trade-show and Conference. Echelon Corp. has joined with Messe Frankfurt for LonWorks Control Network’s annual building, home, and industrial automation conference. LonWorld will offer a number of seminars in energy savings, new technologies, and sales tips and displays for LonWorks’ latest technologies.

To register for ISH NA, visit www.ish-na.com (website) or call Messe Frankfurt at 866-984-8016. For hotel information, visit www.ish-na.com and click on “housing.” Special hotel rates are available. Visit www.aircanada.com (website) for flight information.
