The small dual-fuel heat pump packaged unit, Model 683B, makes use of both gas heating and electric heating and cooling. Electric heating is used in temperatures to about 40 degrees F; for lower temperatures, gas heating is used. Controlled through the company’s dual-fuel thermostat, the system automatically switches between gas and electric operation. The heat pump is available in 2- to 5-ton capacities for residential and light commercial applications. It delivers up to 12.7 SEER. The variable-speed blower motor option provides better heating and cooling properties, thus better comfort for the occupants, says the company.
