The evaporatively cooled water chillers, which make up the ECDX line, feature screw compressors, evaporator, evaporative condenser, and recirculating pump. They are completely factory-packaged and are available for installation in either ducted indoor or outdoor applications. The chillers use HCFC-22 and are compatible with HFC refrigerants. According to the manufacturer, this line of chillers eliminates the need for towers, condenser water piping, pumps, valves, strainers, field power, control wiring, and starters. The company claims that these chillers offer up to 37 percent greater efficiency when compared to other air-cooled chillers, and savings can be greater in areas where energy rebates are a factor.
