The company has announced that solid-state compressor motor starters are now standard equipment on the new “C” vintage ALS air-cooled chillers. According to the manufacturer, these starters offer protection from machine or electrical faults, and include self-diagnostics, metering, and display. Providing smooth, gradual acceleration and controlled, slow deceleration, they reduce mechanical and electrical stress for longer compressor life, says the company. The starter’s LED display delivers a variety of operating and fault messages for greater safety and easier operation and maintenance, the company says.
