Seattle, WA — The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) College of Fellows recently awarded three $1,200 scholarships for the 2001-2002 academic year. One recipient of the scholarship was Melinda Rost of Seattle, WA.

Rost is the daughter of David and Liza Rost of McKinstry Co., a member of the SMACNA-Western Washington Chapter.

Rost is also a graduate of Roosevelt High School and will study engineering at the University of Washington. Among her honors, Rost ranks in the top five percent of her graduating class and earned the status of scholar athlete. She was also on the varsity swimming and tennis teams, and is an active community volunteer dedicating time to the Teen Link advice network.

SMACNA College of Fellows Scholarships are open to freshmen and/or undergraduate college students whose parents are employed by SMACNA members. Applicants must be pursuing careers in fields related to the sheet metal industry and demonstrate leadership potential.
