FALLS CHURCH, VA — A variety of new seminars and educational programs are being offered this year by the Educational Foundation of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC).

New courses include a Service Contractor’s Management Course and a Foreman/Superintendent Training Course.

Also during 2001, the Kohler/Foundation Seminar Series will be expanded, and the Managing PHC Projects Course at Purdue University will be refined based on feedback from contractor auditors.

“We anticipate over 25 Kohler/Foundation seminars will be conducted in 2001,” said Gerard Kennedy, chief operating officer of the Educational Foundation. “Working hand-in-hand with local PHCC Chapters allows us reach contractors on this local level.”

Two other new programs have been initiated. The “Personnel Notebook,” a monthly bulletin on personnel management issues is being provided to PHCC members on a regular basis. Also, the “Focus” newsletter with information on Foundation programs and its benefits to contractors is being distributed.

“[Our] Seminars touch on all aspects of managing your business from pre-construction planning to change order procedures to managing a service and repair business. We have a seminar for every contractor,” said Kennedy.
