Air Quality Efforts Recognized: The Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA; Los Angeles, CA)
The Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA; Los Angeles, CA) Air Quality Program has been selected by Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) as winner of its 2000 Environmental Achievement Award for larger airports. LAWA's program includes electrification and cogeneration at its facilities to supply electricity, heating, and air conditioning. LAWA owns and operates four airports: Los Angeles International, Ontario International, Palmdale Regional, and Van Nuys.
