ATLANTA, GA — Invensys Motor Systems is the new name for Fasco Motors, a manufacturer of specialty motor products. The name change was announced by company president Jim Doyle at a press conference held at the Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refriger-ating Exposition.
According to Doyle, the new name reflects the company’s position as a business unit of Invensys plc, a global controls and automation manufacturer, and unifies the subdivision’s identity with other Invensys product groups.
“Invensys Motor Systems is aligning closely with other Invensys product groups,” said Doyle. “We are currently forming integrated product and service alliances within Invensys to produce total system solutions for our customers.”
The Fasco brand name has a century-long heritage, according to Doyle. He said Fasco will continue to be notably featured in the company’s product line. He said prominent use of the Fasco logo “will clearly link Invensys Motor Systems and Fasco products.”
COMPANY BREAKDOWN
Also at the press conference, Dale Barnhart, president of Invensys Climate Controls, provided a state-of-the-company address to the trade media. He provided a breakdown of the company’s seven current product groups, which includes the following:
“We want to focus on smart controls, systems, and related services,” said Barnhart. “And our goal is to make all control points Web-addressable.”
NEW PRODUCTS, TOO
Invensys also made some new product announcements, including two new Firex® duct smoke detectors, which the company plans to release soon.According to the company, its new 2650-660 duct smoke detectors can interconnect with up to 30 other detectors. The company said they are UL268A listed and are also available in either ionization or photoelectric versions. The ionization unit has a high temperature rating of 155°F, it said.
Meanwhile, Robertshaw® introduced its 9555 2H/2C digital non-programmable thermostat. The company said the 9555, the first in a series of new digital thermostats, has a larger display and is backlit for enhanced readability.
Robertshaw also introduced its new 1500 M manual valve, which the company said can be used in many products from vented and unvented gas hearth fireplaces to space heaters to infrared patio heaters. According to the company, the key features include high-temperature rating, flange-mount ready, compact design for application flexibility, patented over-mold sealing technology, and a design “that allows easier serviceability.
