ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Florida Power has partnered with GE-Zurich Warranty Management for its Appliance Service Plus Program. For $16.99 a month, the program covers washers, dryers, dish-washers, refrigerators, and microwaves, regardless of brand.

Also, for an additional fee, the customer can upgrade the service to cover water heating, wiring, plumb-ing, and hvac systems.

Under the program, if covered appliances are in need of repair, the customer calls an 800 number and a GE-authorized repairmen will come to the home for a flat fee of $50. If the appliance cannot be fixed, it will be replaced by an appliance with similar features and functions.
