Tony Contrera announces that he has left Polar Refrigeration (Detroit, MI) and gone back into business on his own as owner of Joseph Anthony Inc. (Detroit, MI), doing hvac sheet metal, bid and spec, and design-build work.

The Pre-Engineered Systems Group of C&R Mechanical Co. (Bridgeton, MO) has completed four floors of computer rooms for MCI WorldCom in St. Louis, MO. This retrofit project was performed in the Valley Building, a two-building attached structure built in 1927. Approximately 800 tons of hvac was required.

The Special Projects Division of S.I. Goldman Co., Inc. (Longwood, FL), a Comfort Systems USA contractor, is handling the hvac and plumbing work for an addition and renovation at South Seminole Hospital in Longwood. Construction began in August with completion scheduled for May 2001.

S.I. Goldman Co., Inc. (Orlando, FL) recently received Gold Level recognition in the 1999 Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)/Charles J. Eidel Safety Award competition. ABC’s safety awards are based on a comprehensive review of the company’s loss prevention and safety training program.

Paul M. Connor is now vice president of Climate Design Systems, Inc. (Haverhill, MA), overseeing the company’s commercial operation.
