Lochinvar Expands Veritus Heat Pump Water Heater Family

LEBANON, Tennessee — Lochinvar annouced the addition of the 208V model to the Veritus Air Source Heat Pump Water Heater family. This model furthers accessibility to critically important heat pump water heating (HPWH) technology.
The Veritus HPWH raises the bar on energy efficiency and simplifies installation and operation, serving as a sustainable alternative for installations seeking to reduce their environmental impact. The 208V model will provide energy savings and reliable domestic hot water for a wide variety of commercial applications, including multifamily builds, retrofits in older facilities and more.
“Since launching the original Veritus HPWH in 2023, we have received consistent feedback from customers that they wanted another model of the Veritus unit that could fit different installation needs. Lochinvar is committed to meeting our customers' needs, so we introduced the idea of the 208V Veritus unit to expand accessibility to this technology,” said Rhea-Anne Pendley, commercial water heating senior product manager. “This model will be especially useful for retrofit applications where they are seeking a sustainable alternative to traditional gas-fired water heaters but are restricted by the existing 208V electrical outlets often found in older buildings.”
All Veritus HPWH models feature an ECM Variable Speed Pump that ensures precise control, higher efficiency, and reduced noise levels. The unit operates efficiently in below-freezing temperatures due to its innovative reversing defrost cycle that minimizes defrost time, allowing the unit to be installed in colder climates without losing performance.
ECM pumps, fans and a scroll compressor work together to enable Veritus HPWH to operate with a high coefficient of performance (COP), optimize heat transfer and reduce on-site emissions. To provide improved installation flexibility, Veritus heat pumps are modular, meaning units can be manifolded together — ensuring ample hot water supply, built-in redundancy and capacity matching for larger commercial water heater demands.
The Veritus HPWH’s design affords installing contractors the option to transport individual models to a rooftop in a freight elevator, rather than having to move larger models as one piece, improving installation flexibility. Providing even further flexibility, the control box can be installed separately from the tanks and heat pump units. The Veritus HPWH's user-friendly SMART TOUCH control panel makes it easy for users to adjust settings and monitor performance.
