2025 Top 40 Under 40: Tom Swanson

It took spending some time in corporate America, working for a third-party logistics company, for Tom Swanson to realize he wanted a career with more purpose and impact. The realization led to his transformative move from Scottsdale, Arizona, to Oklahoma City, where he joined a family friend’s HVAC company as a comfort advisor.
“It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” Swanson said.
Since his pivot to HVAC, Swanson has made major contributions, and he’s had those contributions recognized.
Under his leadership as general manager of Mathews CCAC, from 2018-2024, Swanson achieved consistent year-over-year growth of at least 25% — growing the business from $1 million to $20 million in only six years.
In 2024, his achievements were formally recognized by Apex Service Partners (Gulf Coast Region), where Swanson was named General Manager of the Year. That same year, he also received the Best eNPS Score Award — with an employee net promoter score of 89.2 — and the Culture Driver Award, a reflection of both a strong, team-centered culture and operational success.
Swanson has “strengthened the company’s presence in the local community through outreach programs, event sponsorships, and partnerships — positioning Mathews CCAC as a trusted service provider, a community leader, and one of the most recognizable brands in South Texas,” he said.
Now, with a track record of growth, culture-building, and community impact behind him, Swanson is focused on the next chapter of his career — and the kind of leadership he hopes to bring to the industry at large.
“My goal is to be a leader in the HVAC industry by championing innovative and forward-thinking strategies for managing home service companies,” Swanson said. “Ultimately, I aspire to own and operate my own company, where I can continue to drive excellence and set new standards for service and team culture.”
