Bryant True Hero Honored for 'Unmatched' Dedication

NANAIMO, British Columbia, Canada — Crystal Dennison, executive director of the Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation, has received the Bryant True Heroes Award from Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems.
This international recognition honors individuals who go above and beyond to make a meaningful impact in their communities through selfless dedication and compassion, a press release from Bryant said. Bryant is a part of Carrier Global Corp.
Dennison is the visionary behind the Food4Schools program, and has built a vital initiative from the ground up, one that now delivers more than 2,100 meals daily to students across the Nanaimo-Ladysmith school district, the press release said. Her tireless efforts ensure that no child goes hungry during the school day, and help students arrive to school nourished, focused, and ready to thrive, the press release said.
“Crystal’s dedication to the community is unmatched,” said Malcolm Rush of Norm’s Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, which nominated Dennison for the award. “Her compassion and commitment have made a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of families, creating a brighter and healthier future for the next generation. Thank you for being the hero our community needs — and deserves.”
Dennison’s leadership extends beyond her district, the press release said. She actively collaborates with other school districts, sharing her expertise to help build a broader network of support for student nutrition across the region. Her work addresses immediate needs and also lays the foundation for long-term, systemic change.
The award presentation was made with the support of Superintendent Robyn Gray of Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools, The Breakfast Clubs of Canada, and the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District.
