Description: The Gruvlok Series 8700 is a grooved-end butterfly valve designed for commercial piping systems ranging from 2" to 8". The patent-pending valve features an off-set disc and ergonomic design that reduces operating torque and improves opening/closing efficiency by up to 39%. The Series 8700 is engineered for bi-directional flow and provides a bubble-tight seal from full vacuum to 400 psi, exceeding the MSS SP-67 standard and surpassing typical industry performance. The valve is available with either a 10-position lever lock or a gear operator and includes an ISO 5211-compliant mounting base for actuation. The valve’s body, end cap and disc are made of ductile iron conforming to ASTM A 536 Grade 65-45-12, and supports in-situ servicing and easy installation in tight spaces — allowing up to a 2" clearance for pipe insulation. The Series 8700 offers seat ring options in EPDM or Nitrile to suit a wide range of media, including water, chemicals, petroleum products, and air with oil vapors. The EPDM version delivers a maximum temperature rating of 250°F.
