Trane Issues Voluntary Recall on Gas/Electric Packaged Units

Consumers should immediately stop using the heating mode of Trane Gas/Electric Packaged Units, according to a release on Trane’s website. The firm has received one report of gas leaking from the recalled two-stage gas furnace/air conditioners. No injuries have been reported.
Those with the Trane Gas/Electric Packaged Units should contact the dealer who installed the unit to schedule an appointment for a free inspection and repair by replacing the ignition board of the unit. Consumers with Trane products can locate their nearest dealer at www.trane.com/residential/en/dealer-locator/. Consumers can also contact Trane directly for support, Trane’s website states.
These units were sold by HVAC distributors and dealers nationwide from January 2024 through March 2025.
According to Trane, the fuel gas valve on these units can open unexpectedly, allowing a gas leak and posing a fire hazard.
This recall impacts about 4,790 units.
The recall involves five different models of Gas/Electric Packaged Units sold under the Trane brand name — Model Number 4YCZ5024F1060A, Serial Number Range 23494053FA-24453189FA; 4YCZ5036F1070A, 23496782FA- 24482967FA; 4YCZ5036F1090A, 24031660FA-24442708FA; 4YCZ5048E1090A, 24043924FA-24492348FA; 4YCZ5048E1115A, 24106164FA – 24415075FA.
