VC2G.

FIELDPIECE: VALVE CORE REMOVAL TOOL

Tool name: VC2G | Valve Core Removal Tool, ¼-inch with Sight Glass and Dual Ball Valves

Description: The VC2G valve core removal tool features an integrated sight glass that allows technicians to verify at a glance that the valve core is captured before opening the tool and confirm when refrigerant is flowing. The sight glass eliminates the typical trial-and-error process that wastes time and refrigerant. A second ball valve isolates and protects an attached vacuum gauge sensor from refrigerant exposure — without introducing extra fittings and potential leak points. The standard ¼-inch service port fitting can be swapped in the field with an optional 5/16” service port fitting for mini-split systems, reducing the number of tools to carry. The VC2G also features a comfort spinner, a free-spinning, rubberized cap that makes removing and inserting the valve core under system pressure easier and more comfortable. Additionally, the cap is magnetic, so the captured valve core can be temporarily stored in a clean location.

GSI.

GREENSEAM: SNAP-LOCK DUCT AND FITTINGS

TPI.

TEST PRODUCTS INTERNATIONAL (TPI): COMBUSTION GAS ANALYZER

Tool name: TPI DC710

Description: For many years, combustion gas analyzers have been used to confirm and/or troubleshoot the operation and performance of gas and/or oil-burning appliances such as furnaces, boilers, etc. Analyzers like the DC710 from TPI accurately measure flue gases in the combustion process, allowing the technician to make necessary adjustments to optimize the fuel-to-air ratio. This leads to more complete combustion, reduced fuel consumption, lower emissions, and improved safety. The DC710 measures CO, and temperature differential; and it calculates CO2, CO air free, excess air, and combustion efficiency. All of the readings are sent via Bluetooth to the TPI view app on a smart device. Because the instrument itself does not have a display, it’s compact, rugged, and more affordable. Readings collected with the app can then be shared with management, the customer, etc., and can be stored for future reference using job management features. This electronic exchange of information greatly reduces the risk of error common with hand-written reporting. Additionally, a number of TPI test instruments use the same app, allowing even greater information gathering for service work.
