FAIRFAX, Texas — Dalton Dague’s life changed dramatically just before Mother’s Day 2023 when a UTV accident left him paralyzed at the T4 level. Despite multiple fractures and a long road to recovery, Dalton remained determined to regain his mobility.
During his rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Rehab Center, he experienced significant benefits from Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) therapy, which helped with muscle spasms, circulation, and range of motion. However, the cost of an at-home FES cycle was beyond his financial reach. That’s when The Joseph Groh Foundation stepped in.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the foundation provided Dalton with an FES cycle, giving him the tools to continue his progress.
“I will use this bike to help myself learn to walk again,” Dalton shared. “When I do, I am going to walk into that doctor’s office that told me I would never walk again and tell him to look at me now!”
Dalton’s story is a testament to perseverance and the impact of community support. To learn more about the Joseph Groh Foundation and how you can support individuals in the contracting industry facing life-altering injuries, visit josephgrohfoundation.org.
