ACCA Awards Honor 'Resourceful Spirit' of HVAC Leaders

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — ACCA highlighted the HVACR industry’s most innovative contractors and leaders last month during its awards reception at ACCA 2025, held in Austin, Texas.
The honorees represent the best of ACCA members, and demonstrated exceptional leadership during shifts in refrigerant standards and workforce challenges, according to an ACCA blog post.
“I’m incredibly proud of this year’s award winners,” said the new ACCA board chairman, Eddie McFarlane. “Each recipient has shown remarkable dedication to advancing our industry through innovation, service excellence, and community leadership. From helping contractors navigate the refrigerant transition to developing the next generation of HVACR professionals, these industry leaders exemplify the resourceful spirit that makes our association strong.”
ACCA 2025 also marked a leadership transition at ACCA, as McFarlane, chief learning and development officer at Sila Services, began his year-long ACCA chairmanship, taking over for Martin Hoover.
James Lane Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Fire Protection, a family-owned company that serves parts of Texas and southern Oklahoma, was named ACCA’s Residential Contractor of the Year. James Lane, based Wichita Falls, Texas, was founded in 1957.
Reiner Group Inc. of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, was the runner-up.
Accurate Mechanical Inc., which serves Central Ohio from several locations and has more than 600 commercial preventative maintenance customers, was named the Commercial Contractor of the Year. Medford Wellington Service Co. Inc. of North Billerica, Massachusetts, was the runner-up.

Additional award winners were:
• Manny Chaves, chairman of ACCA’s codes subcommittee and an HVACR industry veteran of more than 45 years, won the Distinguished Service Award.
• Ryan Kiscaden, the author of “The Air Came to a Stop,” a children’s book about teamwork, HVACR technology, and having an appreciation for skilled trades technicians, won ACCA’s Spirit of Independence Award.
• Josh Aguirre of RighTime Home Services in Riverside, California, whose leadership resulted in $700,000 in additional service revenue, won the Service Manager of the Year Award, sponsored by The NEWS. The runner-up was Mark Mulvaney of AA Service Co. Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing in Northbrook, Ilinois.
• David Lawrence, owner and operator of Dense Mechanical in Enid, Oklahoma, won the Federated Insurance ACCA Super S.T.A.R. Award.
• Leo Lane, vice president at James Lane, won the Community Leadership Award.
• Air Control Home Services of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, whose rebranding campaign generated more than 3.3 million content views and increased revenue by 88%, won the Marketing Masters Award.
The 2026 ACCA awards will be presented during ACCA 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada, next March. Nominations open this summer.
