Greg Wells

Company: MAX Service Group
Title: President
Age: 37

At just 35 years old, Greg Wells became the president of MAX Service Group, an HVAC company that operates numerous HVAC and plumbing companies in the Midwest.

Now, at 37, he has helped contribute to the company’s most successful year yet, with a 23% increase in revenue year-over-year from 2021 to 2022, a record hiring of 80 people across MAX Service Group brands, and the most charitable contributions to the community in the company’s history: $264,550.

One of Wells’ biggest accomplishments is spearheading philanthropic work at MAX Service Group. In each major city the company serves (Indianapolis, Louisville, Columbus, and Cincinnati), the company donates $1,500 to a new charity each month.

“We've ingrained charitable giving and community involvement into our culture, and it's really extended the impact our company alone could make,” Wells said.

On the business side, 2022 was one of incredible growth under Wells’ leadership. Key to the company’s highest revenue year to date was a shift in perspective on how the company does business. Previously, the company had operated with the intention of doing as much as possible while spending as little as possible. Wells switched gears into an abundance mindset when he took the helm of MAX Service Group. This entails pouring more into the team and finding opportunities to give them more tools to succeed, including better, more comprehensive benefits.

“My passion every single day is to leave this industry better than when I started,” Wells said. “I would say my career goals really are more around building a business that has an industry-leading team member and client experience. While that is not necessarily a highly-defined goal, it is something that I work on every single day.”
