Nick Scarnecchia, president of 6 & Fix, began working in the HVAC industry at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the trade. Soon he was opening up his own shop.
Not wanting to get stuck in an old-school way of doing business, Scarnecchia hired a marketing agency to conduct a focus group. They concluded from the results that what homeowners want most out of an HVAC company is immediate service. Through this knowledge, Nick created 6 & Fix and structured his operations to provide same-day service for HVAC repairs seven days a week, including holidays. The company’s slogan is “Call before 6 p.m. and get your system fixed the same day!” During this time, nobody else in the area seemed to be offering same-day service, and if they were, they certainly didn’t advertise it enough to let the masses know.
Since its inception in 2018, 6 & Fix has grown exponentially year-over-year and currently has 64 employees and a fleet of 67 vehicles.
It is also an award-winning organization. This includes Johnston Supply’s Dealer of the Year for three years running and Daikin Elite Sales Top 20 Dealer in North America both in 2021 and 2022.
“My first career goal is to help change the status quo of how the HVAC industry has always operated,” Scarnecchia said. “We can no longer play by the rules the previous generation did. I plan to focus on the customers’ need for same-day service, and use technology and training to make the service experience more streamlined for both the customer and technician. Secondly, I hope to open an HVAC technician training school of my own.”
