BALTIMORE — Slate Capital Group, a private equity firm with offices in Baltimore, Nashville, and Cincinnati, has invested in Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG), a full-service HVAC and plumbing contractor that specializes in large-scale commercial projects and is based in Sterling, Virginia.
“We were impressed by Vertical Mechanical Group’s stellar reputation, advanced technologies, efficient and economical solutions, strong leadership team, and experienced employees. As one of the preeminent HVAC and plumbing contractors in the Mid-Atlantic, VMG is the ideal partner for us to pursue our growth objectives in the Eastern United States,” said Erik Ginsberg, a managing partner and co-founder at Slate. “This partnership is a terrific opportunity to provide financial support and bring knowledge assets to VMG.”

To expand our market further, we know that liquidity and intellectual capital is essential,” said Daniel Rude, the VMG CEO. “Slate Capital Group has been an integral partner in other strategic initiatives in the past year, and they demonstrated that their team is the best partner in moving forward to bring our products and services to a larger audience.”
Vertical Mechanical Group was formed by the 2021 merger of Anderson Mechanical Services Inc. and Inspiration Plumbing Co.
