KENILWORTH, N.J. — Meyer & Depew, a residential and commercial HVAC contracting businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region, is celebrating its 70th year in business.

Since 1983, the company has been based in Kenilworth, New Jersey, and has continued the decades-long tradition of providing top-quality heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, equipment, jobs, service, and client satisfaction that has built its business and reputation for 50 years.

"From the very beginning, we have recognized that our employees are the strongest asset to our company,” said Bobby Ring, president, Meyer & Depew. “We support them with the kind of company backup that has made Meyer & Depew Company named ‘One of the Best Contractors to Work For,’ by The Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration NEWS, a popular trade publication in the HVAC industry.

Meyer & Depew's s story began in 1953, when Robert E. Meyer and James G. Depew formed the company in Hillside, New Jersey. Over the early years, the two founders built a substantial business, becoming a leader in the residential and commercial HVAC contracting businesses serving Central and Northern New Jersey.

Jim Depew retired in the late 1960s, and, upon Bob Meyer's subsequent retirement a decade later, the company was sold to a two-man partnership, including Bob Ring, a senior company executive who had joined the company in January 1961 as a sheet metal worker. With a focus on hard work, quality, and customer satisfaction, Bob Ring quickly advanced within the company ranks to HVAC service and installation technician, service manager, and finally to operations manager of the company. In 1998, Bob Ring and his son Bobby Ring, also a long-term Meyer & Depew employee, assumed full control of the company. Bob Ring passed in June 2011 leaving the company to his son Bobby Ring, the company's current president.

"The efforts and example set forth by our founders and my father created a family of professional technicians and service-driven support people whose sole focus is built on delivering peace of mind customers," said Bobby Ring. "I'm proud to continue their legacy as Meyer & Depew enters its seventh decade of operations”.

Meyer & Depew is a long-standing member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA). The organization upholds the most stringent requirements for professional ethics and requires its members to attend professional development, continuing education, and training to stay up to date with the latest trends and technology in the HVAC industry.

As part of its ongoing efforts as an environmentally responsible corporate citizen, Meyer & Depew is actively involved in sustainability programs and recycles old furnaces, air conditioners, and other equipment that are replaced. One of its most important efforts focuses on the recovery and recycling of high ozone-depletion potential and high global-warming refrigerants.

The company also contributes to and participates in programs that benefit the local communities it serves. Among the local organizations it supports, is the Sharing Network Foundation, a subsidiary of the NJ Sharing Network, which helps save the lives of people in need of organ and tissue transplants. Through its "Installation Donation" program, Meyer & Depew donates to the foundation for every HVAC system it installs.

As a kidney donor himself, Bobby Ring is acutely aware of the ever-present need for organ donors and the many benefits of the Sharing Network Foundation's round-the-clock efforts. "We're proud to be supporting their important work and encourage everyone to get involved even if they don't need a new home HVAC system," said Bobby Ring.
