Trane Technologies announced that it has surpassed the DOE requirements for the residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge for high-efficiency heating in freezing temperatures and recently began field trials; ACCA and AHRI weigh in on a DOE proposal that would phase out noncondensing gas furnaces for consumer use beginning in about six years; Despite ongoing issues and uncertainties, many contractors are encouraging end users who are in the market for new HVAC equipment to buy now; and according to a panel of HVAC manufacturers and suppliers at the recent Nexstar Network Super meeting, contractors should be focused on transport, inventory, training, and communication in the new year.
