MILWAUKEE — Johnson Controls Inc. announced it will increase prices for its HVAC equipment business to offset the continued increase in commodity costs. Price increases will range from 5-12 percent and impact the company’s equipment manufactured in its North American plants.

Over the past year, commodity prices have steadily risen across the globe. Steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials have continued to increase in price, and, until now, Johnson Controls has absorbed these new costs of doing business. In addition to commodity price pressures, transportation and freight costs have also increased significantly.
