ASCO has introduced brass valves that comply with Federal Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) requirements for lead-free components. The lead-free brass constructions are available on the company’s most popular lines of general service solenoid valves.
SDWA Section 1417 prohibits the use of leaded components in valves handling water “intended for human consumption.” Lead-free brass valves from ASCO eliminate the need to perform the wetted surface area lead content calculation specified by the SDWA.
The valves are available with flexible options that meet a variety of customer needs;
• Pipe sizes of 1/8 inch to 1 inch;
• NBR and EPDM elastomer options;
• Coil electrical connection options: conduit (NEMA 4X), DIN coil, open-frame spade; and
• Hot water constructions.
ASCO offers lead-free brass valves with a zero psi minimum pressure differential option. Five psi minimum pressure differential models also are available. The valves are ideal for applications such as dishwashing equipment and general plumbing uses.
