Two HVAC Products Named to Top 100
This Old House named two HVAC products to its Top 100: Best new Home Products 2013. Both were listed in the Home Technology category.
One was the XC25 air conditioner by Lennox. The unit features 25 SEER, Precise Comfort™ technology that adjusts fan speed, heat and airflow capacity in increments as small as 1 percent, and a SunSource® Solar-Ready option. According to the company, cooling capacity automatically adjusts up or down, based upon cooling demand, to use only the precise amount of energy needed to maintain temperature within 0.5 degrees of the thermostat setpoint.

The other product on the list was the Prestige Condensing power direct vent water heater by Rheem. According to the company, the water heater has the highest energy efficiency for a residential gas tank-type water heater. It features a first hour rating of 93 gallons for the 48-gallon model and a recovery rate of 48.5 gallons.
It is also a FVIR-compliant water heater and Energy Star® qualified in both the United States and Canada.
