Packard Inc. acquires SDC Distributing as part of expansion plan; begins donation program for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

KENNESAW, Ga. - Packard Inc., Kennesaw, Ga., reached an agreement to acquire the assets of SDC Distributing, Suwanee, Ga. SDC’s supplies small to mid-sized OEMs with critical components. According to Packard, the acquisition is expected to strengthen its strategic plan to better serve a larger segment of the small to mid-sized OEM market.

“The combination of Packard and SDC Distributing means that we will be able to grow our distribution in the OEM market and add value to this segment of the market with our complete selection of HVACR parts and components,” said Susan Kirkland, president of Packard Inc. “We are looking to build long term relationships with these customers and establish ourselves as their one source for HVACR solutions. By leveraging the strengths of both Packard and SDC, we feel confident that we can achieve this goal.”

Packard’s acquisition of SDC follows a year-long path of continued growth and expansion. Most recently, the company opened a warehouse in Las Vegas to facilitate faster delivery of compressors and condensing units to West Coast customers.

The company is making charitable strides in the industry as well. Packard Inc. and participating partner brands will donate 2 percent of sales of select products to The One Fund Boston to help the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. U.S.A.-made compressors, capacitors, motors, fan blades, and accessories sold through Packard from May 1 to July 4 will qualify for the program. Participating brands include: Revcor, Titan HDTM, Tutco, U.S. Seal Manufacturing™, and ZSi.
