The EPA awarded its Energy Star Partner of the Year award this week. Who won and what were they honored for?

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) named Air King as a 2013 Energy Star Partner of the Year. According to the EPA, the ventilation products manufacturer was chosen for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. Air King’s accomplishments were recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington on March 26.

“Through their commitment to producing quality energy-efficient ENERGY STAR products, Air King has demonstrated their commitment to saving consumers money and protecting our environment,” said Bob Perciasepe, acting administrator, EPA. “Air King is recognized today for this outstanding effort that has helped protect the climate for all Americans.”

Air King has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2002 and this is the second year in a row that the company has won the Partner of the Year award. The manufacturer continued its leadership in energy efficient products by adding to its lines of Energy Star qualified exhaust fans and range hoods. The EPA pointed out its most notable addition of the Essence range hood to the Quiet Zone® series of under cabinet range hoods. Through the “Change the World, Start with Energy Star” pledge campaign, Air King was able to save over 20.7 million pounds of greenhouse gasses.

“Our partnership with ENERGY STAR allows us to provide high quality products that help our customers save energy and money,” said Jeff Kenkelen, President, Air King. “We see growing customer demand for high-performing products that also help protect the environment.”
