AmazonSupply.com is just a few months away from its one-year anniversary. Launched by Amazon.com Inc. in April of last year, the new venture is still in beta testing format. According to the company’s announcement, this website is “dedicated to offering a broad selection of parts and supplies to business, industrial, scientific, and commercial customers at competitive prices.”
The site was started with 500,000 items being offered in 14 different categories. The latest number of products has been updated to 600,000 as product offerings continue to grow. Upon searching “HVAC” at AmazonSupply.com, approximately 500 products were listed including furnace filters, HVAC condensate pumps, HVAC blowers, HVAC fans and circulators, as well as tools, meters, and multiple other accessories.
Along with a wide range of products, AmazonSupply.com is offering features such as free, two-day shipping on qualified items, a 365-day return policy, and a dedicated customer service team and technical help. There are three ways to order - online, over the phone, and via fax. There are no minimum orders and Amazon.com is offering a corporate credit line to customers who are eligible. As for who it sells to, AmazonSupply.com states on its website that it will only sell to business customers.
“By using AmazonSupply, you represent and warrant that you are a business customer and you will not use any products purchased from AmazonSupply for individual or personal, family or household use.”
There has been no news as to whether this venture of Amazon.com has been successful or whether it will continue down this path.
