DENVER — Comfort Air Distributing (CAD), the Rheem distributor for Colorado and Wyoming, is celebrating it’s 30th year in Denver. In 1987, Jim O’Mara, CAD President, approached Rheem with a proposal to make the Rheem subcontractor a full distributorship. Later that year the new distributorship was awarded, and O’Mara, along with his father Jerry, opened a warehouse in North Denver. In the early 1990s, Dave Schrock, long time industry professional, joined the company and was later appointed executive vice president.

Under the leadership of O’Mara and Schrock, the HVAC wholesaler initiated a marketing campaign for contractors under the umbrella “Rheem Team.” The campaign was successful in building Rheem into one of the most recognizable HVAC brands in the Rocky Mountains. CAD soon needed to expand and opened branches in Colorado Springs, Centennial, and also added a satellite office in northern Colorado. O’Mara credited the CAD team and customer base for the company’s growth and success. “I think we have the most knowledgeable team in the industry that is very customer centric, and our customers appreciate that. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our customers and suppliers who have been loyal to us over the years, and we look forward to serving them in the next 30 years,” he said.
