Trivalent Chromium Passivation of Aluminum for Corrosion Protection
LAS VEGAS — Advancements in aluminum passivation chemistry by the U.S. Navy have resulted in the development of a hex-chrome free conversion coating that is designed to add significant corrosion resistance to aluminum. This coating is thin, consistent, adds corrosion protection to HVAC coils, and can be top-coated with hydrophilic and anti-microbial topcoats. All aluminum heat exchangers are gaining popularity, and aluminum passivation can be a cost effective and robust option for the protection of residential and commercial HVAC coils.
