RALEIGH, N.C. — The South Carolina Building Performance Association (SCBPA) is a new 501(c)(6) not-for-profit trade association being formed to represent the companies and professionals working in South Carolina’s home and building performance industry. Building performance includes green building, energy efficient, high performance, and other product and service offerings to residents and businesses.

The association will represent a variety of industry companies and professionals including: home performance contractors, building performance contractors, energy auditors, home energy raters, insulation contractors, product and service providers, and others.

The association will provide its members with programs and services focused on making their companies, industry, and careers better. These services will include: industry advocacy and lobbying; consumer and business education; market research and development; educational and networking events; and more.

SCBPA is starting with the following local and national sponsor companies: Dr. Energy Saver, Duke Energy, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic Eco Solutions, and Therma-Stor.
