Augury Unveils OEM Partnership Program for Industrial IoT

Pump manufacturer Grundfos to participate in pilot program

October 12, 2016

NEW YORK — Augury, an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) company, announced a new partnership program designed to deliver connected, self-diagnosing predictive maintenance products to OEMs. Grundfos, one of the largest pump manufacturers in the world, is the first to join the Augury Partnership Program.

“With a shared focus on quality engineering and innovation, we are excited to partner with Grundfos and extend our diagnostic expertise to their already strong aftermarket franchise,” said Jonathan Cooper, head of business development at Augury. “As continuous monitoring becomes commonplace to the industrial world, this partnership program will grant OEMs unparalleled access to their critical spare parts and aftermarket businesses. We are excited that Grundfos is on board to drive this innovative program.”

With Augury’s technology, OEMs are granted direct, asset-level views of their equipment in the field. This allows their end-user customers greater access to their aftermarket services, in turn increasing efficiencies at the asset and facility levels. As consumer and manufacturer use of IoT devices rises, the real-world data derived from continuously monitored sensors will result in less downtime and lower repair and staffing costs for facility managers. For OEMs, the technology helps transform one-off sales relationships with facility managers into ongoing service relationships.

Grundfos’ Municipal & Water Utility division already delivers highly specialized services to the freshwater and wastewater industries. Drinking water, stormwater, and sewage, for example, each have unique operational considerations that Grundfos has developed bespoke applications for.

“The mechanisms that transport and pump water are integral to our daily lives and well-being,” said Tim Fabian, service and aftermarket director at Grundfos. “We’ve acquired a tremendous amount of data and engineering knowledge about our equipment over the years. Extending this knowledge via enhanced diagnostics to our customer base provides an enhanced level of support and is a natural extension of our aftermarket offering.”

For Grundfos, Augury will strategically place technology at critical facilities that require around-the-clock monitoring, to accelerate machine learning and diagnostic expertise. The company said this IIoT solution for industrial pumps heralds a future for broader uses of technology including fans, chillers, and related HVAC equipment.
